Transportation

Chartered Bus

For the wedding day, we plan to provide a shuttle from the recommended hotels in Miraflores to the venues and drop off at the hotel at the end of the night.

Uber

For day-to-day transportation while you're in Lima, we recommend using Uber to get around the city. Uber prices are fairly cheap, but make sure you have an international friendly payment method hooked up to your Uber account like PayPal. Connect a variety of payment methods to your account before you leave the U.S. in case you run into any issues. You will need WiFi and/or roaming data enabled to allow you to use Uber, so plan accordingly. Uber is easier than other forms of transportation because you can enter your destination and know the price up front. There are also other services like Cabify and Taxibeat you can download beforehand that work similarly to Uber.

Taxi

There are official and licensed taxis available at the airport to get you to your hotel, you can also arrange one directly with your hotel. While we prefer Uber and private car services, taxis are available all around the city, but many of them are unofficial and unlicensed. Never get into a taxi with other "passengers". Avoid taking taxis late at night, opt for Ubers after dark. Listen to your gut, if something feels off, send them on their way and take another one. Taxis aren't metered in Peru, so you'll need to negotiate the price with your driver before leaving, make sure you clarify if you are speaking in Soles (Sol, the local currency) or Dollars (USD), and pay at the end of the ride when you make it to your destination. We recommend paying in Soles instead of Dollars.

Rental Cars

While it's entirely possible to, we don't recommend renting a car to get around Lima. The traffic can get pretty crazy and drivers tend to make up their own rules. Your blood pressure will thank us if you avoid renting a car while in Lima.
